WOW. In one word is how I describe the first game of season 2. In my eyes wow is the word that best fits many apsects of the season.
First, the league expanded from 10 to 16 players this year. Only 6 of the 16 were in last years league. Also the league founder, Marc Woodgeard dropped out in a dissapointing fashion. Come on you are the founder, this isnt the XFL it has more than 1 season in its life expectancy.
Secondly, Subs were out of control. First we needed 2 then 3 then 4 then 3 then 2 then 3. Finally it worked ok but Scott and I were calling everyone we knew. So for future reference try to get your own sub if you cannot make it. Sorry Bauamann is no longer allowed to sub.
Thirdly, I am not a conspiracy theorist but when Jay invites 4 of his friends to join the league and Tommy, John, Todd and Mark go out in that order and all of the chips go to Jay, Hmmmm, makes me wonder. But all for not Jay had almost 1/2 of the chips in play and he lost it all and didnt even finish in the money, placed 4th. The biggest meltdown I have ever witnessed in poker history.
Lastly the game moved along just fine with two tables playing and the cash game was a little different this time. Normally we just play Texas Hold Em but since John and Todd joining the league they bring their experience and variety of different style of poker games. Its fun and refreshing from the norm but be careful and you might need to bring your checkbook because games like Acey Duecy were being plaid.
